How much does it cost to have a stump removed? There are many variables that determine the price of removing a stump. For example, in addition to the size of the stump, as many as 20 other factors need to be considered, such as the type of tree, the terrain of the immediate area, and the location of the stump (as related to the safety of your home and property). This is why we always provide free estimates. We make the time to thoroughly evaluate your specific situation. Once you receive our written proposal, you know exactly what the cost will be. Is there any obligation if I ask for an estimate? Absolutely not! Estimates help us as much as they help you. They give us the opportunity to understand your needs, and they help you understand the variables and benefits of our service. And our estimates are always free, with no pressure to commit. They only catch is all estimates do require a site visit to the stump's location, but we won't waste your valuable time. Our final proposals are always provided in writing (as required by law), and you don't even need to see us if you don't want to!
Can I save a few dollars by doing some of the work myself? While we've found that most customers appreciate the value of our "no-mess" stump removal, we can definitely work with you based on the amount of work you want to do. We're happy to provide a proposal that includes multiple options so you can choose which one best meets your needs.
About the Service
Will your equipment damage my yard? We want your yard to look better when our work is done. While we pride ourselves on responsive customer service and prompt turnaround time, if your yard is just too wet we’ll wait until the conditions have improved. If there is any kind of risk associated with your particular situation, you'll be informed of it ahead of time as part of our personalized estimate process. In addition, because we specialize in stump removal only and have a diversified inventory of equipment, we’re able to choose the machine that’s just right for your situation. Whenever possible, we’ll opt for the smaller, lighter unit.
I'd really like to plant another tree where the stump is. Can this be done? Maybe. Be sure to let us know your intentions, and we'll evaluate your specific situation.
One of my neighbors had a stump removed and was left with a big mound of wood chips. I don't even think they'll be able to grow grass there! Is that what I should expect from you? It’s important that you read your quotes closely and you understand the differences between them. Unfortunately, the lowest bid often means there will be lots of work left over for you to deal with after your contractor is gone. Our main goal is making sure your property looks better when we leave, so we provide you with options on how best to make that happen. Sure, we can leave the debris behind, if that’s what you want. But if you really want your work to be done when we’re done, we can grind the stump and any surface roots, remove the debris, and fill the remaining hole with soil. You’re the customer, which means you should choose the service that best meets your needs. You can view our handy checklist for things to look out for when you're comparing quotes here.
There are some large roots from my neighbor's tree running through my yard. Can you grind those? Sorry, but we won't grind the roots of a living tree. The roots supply nutrition and provide stability to the growing tree. To disturb them means putting the tree at risk, which puts you and your neighbors at risk. And that's a chance we just won't take. Learn more about our commitment to safety here.
